My meditation, revisited (Plus a Headspace giveaway!)

 
 

Over the summer I shared with you how I incorporate more meditation into my daily routine. I mentioned how hard it was for me to actually sit and meditate for more than a few minutes.

Well, after making my walking meditations a daily practice, I got more and more used to quieting my mind and decided to try taking up a more traditional practice again.

I took the leap and bought the year-long subscription to Headspace and HOLY COW am I glad I did. While I had used the free 10-day intro pack over and over again, I found that I wanted (well, needed) a bit more variety. Hey, variety is the spice of life, right?

In the beginning you have to start with the foundations pack. Obviously having a good foundation of beginners meditation is key before expanding your mind and using meditation for self-development, business development, or any type of development.

But once I got past the 20 days of foundations the world became my oyster! There are 30-day packs from everything from insomnia to depression, to relationships and focus.

I chose the creativity pack for my first real challenge and I'm so glad I did. I've found it easier and easier to switch my brain on and off from the buzzing of ideas swirling in my head to stillness and focus when I'm working with my one-on-one patients.

Each day I wake up excited to start my day with meditation. (That is a sentence I never thought I'd ever write before today.)

Why am I waxing poetic about Headspace today?
