If you know me at all, you probably know how much I hate juice/smoothie detoxes/cleanses. (Wait, you're a newbie here? Read my liver detox tips here then.) So you might be wondering why I'm currently on day 2 of a 21-Day Sugar Detox.
See, I don't really even consider the 21DSD as a detox. I see it as a mental/emotional/physical shift in the way I eat. A shift that's still based on whole foods like vegetables, healthy fats, well-sourced protein, and whole grains - without restricting calories, energy, or nutrition.
I've found over the years that in order to have a successful 21DSD, you need to go into the first week with lot of food prepared.
This task can be daunting for some people who already feel pressed for time in the kitchen. So this weekend as I was meal prepping for the first week, I hopped on periscope to show y'all how simple and quick meal prep really can be.
Topics discussed in this periscope:
- How I completed my weekly cook-up in 2 hours
- The benefits of aloe vera juice internally
- Why almond butter instead of peanut butter?
- Why whole milk instead of skim?
Meal prep doesn't have to take all day! Make all this in 2 hours [Tweet this!]
Preparation is the key to any successful dietary challenge [Tweet this!]
Always make more food than you think you need when prepping for a 21DSD [Tweet this!]
